Icelandic horses from Vindás farm

About us

The farm of Vindás lies in the ancient dwelling site of Oddi, South Iceland. For a hundred years the farmers of Vindás have been breeding their own herd of Icelandic horses. Due to keeping in the natural outdoor conditions combined with expert care and training the four gaited Vindás horses are well known for their build and grace of movements, willingness, stamina and friendly mood. Our horses are used for breeding, competing and leisure travel.

Jón Jónsson was involved in horse training and breeding since early years and worked along his father Jón Þorvarðarsson, also a devoted horseman. The family tradition is handling horses with care and respect for their needs to ensure a good contact between a man and a horse.
